SYNOPSIS
Anelia, a paramedic from Bulgaria, after years of living in Berlin, finds herself entangled in an increasingly abusive relationship with her boyfriend, Bastian. When a conflict between them becomes physically violent, her ambulance crew partner, Keli, a veteran paramedic, encourages her to take on a second job as a "set medic" for what turns out to be a highly evolved movement theatre interpretation of Dante's Inferno.
Anelia and Keli's ambulance calls begin to increasingly mirror Dantes's journey through the Nine Circles of Hell. Having discovered that she is pregnant with Bastian's baby, Anelia is simultaneously haunted by disturbing memories from her childhood in rural Bulgaria. Just as she begins to teeter on the edge of a psychic break, a shocking reversal reframes all we have come to understand about this woman and her journey.
